While it may soften the skin, nothing besides laser treatments can get rid of them totally. Lotions, oils & milk are all topical. Stretch marks are subcutaneous, meaning deepest layer under the skin, where lotions, oils & milk can not penetrate. It has to do with skin elacticity not just the outermost layer. Just like saran wrap, if it stretches too much it will affect the looks. Some women have more elastic skin & it goes back. Tretinoin cream diminishes them if applied after birth for 14 days, but of course BFing isn't reccomemded with it.

If you are going to get stretch marks, you are going to get them period. They used to bug me, but now that I have thought about it. They are a very small price to pay for 3 beautiful children. Isn't that what really matters?

Oh yes, I know. They are a very small price to pay. The ones that bug me aren't the ones I got during pregnancy. Those I actually don't mind at all (the few I have). The ones that bother me are the silver ones all over my butt and thighs that I got during puberty, but I 'm not willing to burn my skin with a laser to get rid of them. Just not that vain.
