Mama Blessing Thread

post #1 of 3

Hi all,

I thought this would be a nice place for us to have a little cyber mama blessing. Please feel free to post a quote, inspirational saying, prayer, blessing or whatnot for the other January mamas.

(More from me later) Aloha

A blessing for our little ones, may they all come forth in peace;
wrap them up in love and warmth, in lambs wool and golden fleece.
A blessing for our little ones, may their health be full and well;
nurture them with milk and hugs, and know your love will tell.
A blessing for our little ones, hope for long life and strength of mind;
let them run the world for us, and show us that they're kind.
A blessing for our little ones, great things we link to them;
for without them we are surely lost, and the worst we can not stem.
A blessing for our little ones, take them in your arm,
kiss their tiny heads and hands, and keep them from all harm.

Not exactly a 'blessing,' but definitely inspirational....

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permissions to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

-Attributed to Nelson Mandela, but it is unclear who actually wrote it.
