weekly thread for 1/2-1/9 - Page 2

I am also SO tired, and very easily distracted. And lots and lots of MS, and heartburn already (I don't remember much of that until the end last time, but maybe my memory is fading...) Plus the whole bladder thing -- I think the 4 1/2 hours of pushing out dd made it way too weak.

One question for those of you (most, it seems) with little ones already -- are they acting differently? I swear it almost tracks conception to the day when dd started being oh so much more clingy and --frankly-- bratty (screaming tantrums, throwing things, etc. -- we don't call it "bratty" to her, of course, just explain why we would prefer she behaves in a different way). We seem to have an outburst or two (or three sometimes) every day. Probably coincidence (she is turning three next month) but I wonder if she can sense or smell or somehow knows that, all things going as planned, her life will be changing dramatically in seven months...

Off to try to remember what I wanted to do an hour ago...

Kim,
I always say it's the terrific twos and terrible threes! It's probably just the 3s setting in - so much fun (NOT!) with the stubborn sassy obstinance. A whole new phase of testing - that classic struggle between feeling more grown up and capable, and wanting to be babied and coddled and know you will always be there as she assumes a little more independence. Also, if your feeling poorly it could be that she is mirroring you some too.

Weekly update update:
I went to WIC today to pick up vouchers and get myself added, and found that I'm anemic. Joy of joys, no wonder I'm so exhausted!! I could barely pick my butt up off the couch to get there today. Now, if only I had the energy to fix myself some iron-rich meals...

chirowife. i just passed the point where baby stopped developing this spring, 5 more weeks to get past the time of m/c thinking of you

kaitnbugsmom - sorry to hear about your dh's job situation. optimistic is the way to be

and to hormonal mood swings....whoa! nelly. I can't even keep up with mine sometimes. Never mine expect dh to. He is being really supportive. We have had some time to absorb our news and he is really surprising me. Told me hey, it will be august - we can have the windows open we have a tub, let's have the baby right here! threw me for a loop so now i'm back to entertaining that notion.
really enjoying birthing from within. had not seen it before and he found it for me for christmas.

oh yea, my ds has been quite different since we conceived. it seems to mirror that moment exactly. he is all about the "boobies" and we stopped nursing about a year ago. he did this when i was pregnant in the spring. his behavior is also different. not sure if this is turning 2, me being extra tired or him sensing something is up.

Ughhhh! Not feeling well

I am 7 weeks and feeling horrible-constant nausea, tired and throwing up. I have had hyperemesis with all 4 of my other pregnancies so this is no surprise. I am allergic to antiemetics, so I try other stuff like Zofran, B6, adrenals, ginger, seabands, etc. All to no avail. I am miserable and having a tough time taking care of myself let alone my kids.

Also, as a midwife apprentice, this really sucks because I am going to need to take some time off, I can't work or function like this! I usually start feeling better between 16-20 weeks although I throw up to the end, just not frequently.

Hope everyone else is feeling good! I just read my post through and realize I am a real ball of sunshine at this time, huh? I will get more excited later, LOL.

Well... guess the job wasn't that big of a deal right now. My beloved was activated last night for an emergency in-state duty to help with the flooding we're having. So for at least the next three days he'll at least be earning some money...

The down side to this is, of course, that he will miss the doctor's visit today, and the ultrasound. I'm just praying that everything turns out for the best and I can tell him when he calls tonight that Bean is fine, developing on schedule, and so forth..

the nausea is much worse this time, and constant. i dont' get sick, but it is yucky.

my milk supply is really low too, I can't drink enough water and I had a 24 hr bug. hope it picks back up soon!

8 wks now and getting an u/s next week to date things

I swear I'm going to have to get bigger bras. Perhaps dolly parton could loan a few? Ugh...

On the up side, got an ultrasound today. They kept the good pic for my file and gave me the fuzzy one that you can't see squat in. Aren't they nice? Oh well.. Got to watch Bean moving and all that. 17 mm. length, and heart rate was "steady" and "right on target" Again, helpful aren't they?

I'm here..exausted.. the morning sickness was way worse than with either of my previous pregnancies, but a b-complex vitamin has alleviated most of it.

I find out tomorrow if I get to VBA2C or not. i'm a bit nervous.

Things are going OK here, no m/s, just fatigue and a stubborn little UTI that I either HAVE to get rid of or take antibiotics (the very last thing I want to do). DD is super excited and, I'm sure of it, knew I was pg before we told her. She is like my mom, checking everything I eat to make sure there's no caffine, alcohol or sugar in it. Having an older kid when pg is super cool.

Ten weeks is feeling really good. I've been taking milk thistle this time around and no ms! My belly is popping out quite noticeably but the upper region is still nonexistent. My first midwife appointment is tomorrow and I can't wait. She's a dear friend, too, and I'm anxious to know how everything is going with the baby.
My 1 yr dd started behaving differently too when I conceived. She got clingy and whiny, but the dog acted differently too. My 2 1/2 yr dd is excited that mommy has a baby in her belly and is always asking "Mommy, you okay? or I got a baby in my baby, mommy?" I had to explain to her that she had to get married first, and in the meantime she could help me take care of all my babies. They have been sweet and helpful at least some of the time, which is great when I want to take a nap, etc.
There is not enough food in the house. Every hour or two I am looking for more food. I just can't eat alot in one sitting.
We'll get through this first trimester, ladies, hang in there!

Only 8 weeks here and I have MS badly. I did with the first pregnancy too. I also sleep an awful lot, whenever my little guy lies down I am right there with him. I am eating most things, but I am entering that stage of just picturing a food or hearing the name of it and feeling nauseated. That is so strange. I keep a bowl and crackers by the bed at night.
I sleep with my 1 1/2 year old too and he is still nursing at night. I am finding that I have less patience with his frequent wakenings.
My husband is being great, as always. He gets up in the morning with Coltrane and he also just does everything around the house. I am lucky.

Hello,

just about 10 weeks now- and looking forward to getting to the 11th....it was 10.5 weeks when in last pregnancy- the baby stopped developing. I actuallly took a HPT test today.....still positive. I know I'm crazy!!!

A little "pooch"- more at night...appetite increasing- no ms/- just some sensitivities- some foods "gross" me out. Boobs sore off and on...little twinges lower pelvic area which always scare me a little. Tired...a little cranky- but really HAPPY to be pregnant!!!

Come on 2nd trimester!!!
