Anyway, my nursling is 2 1/2 and still going strong. He will be joined by a baby brother in a few weeks. It will be interesting to see how tandem nursing goes- I can't wait!

You should have included a category for "baby not born yet." (Not that I'm expecting, or have been anywhere NEAR a sperm in over 2 years, but I knew I was going to CLW from the moment I found out I was pg with ds. I'm sure I'm not the only one.)

DS is almost 18months and still nurses anywhere from 5-25 times a day(of course some of those are sips, :LOL) I doubt he will stop anytime soon, it feels like he hasnt cut down hardly any

ds is four at the end of the month and dd is 18 1/2 months. ds nurses sporadically. he asked to nurse before bed tonight, but by the time bedtime got here, he just went to sleep. he's down to once every 1-2 weeks now. dd nurses 2-3 times a day and a couple of times a night.

My dd is only 14 mos, but clw is our plan. She could win an award for most frequent nurser among the folks I know! :LOL I feel already like we're kinda freaky among the 'wean at 1 if not before' crowd at the playgroups in our neighbourhood, but I LOVE nursing her.

I am mom to 3 CLW children-
Zach weaned a LONG time ago at age 4 1/2--Alex weaned a long time ago at age 5--(I did not put them on the poll)
my soon to be weaned it seems dd is 5.9 months.
They all have done the progression from nursing very often to only at night & in the morning (and when they get a boo-boo)to only at night to skipping a few days to weaned .

It seems like the most natural way-although at times I might have tried to place gentle limits on where or when -I had to follow what my heart said.

I put 7...she'll be 8 next week, but I'm pretty sure she won't ask again. Sometimes when people ask, I say she weaned at 5, because after that age, her nursing became much more sporadic. But I'd say she nursed weekly or so through her 6th year---kindergarten was HARD for her, let me tell you--- and some last year. But only a few times this past year.
We talked about nursing just a few weeks ago, but she really FINALLY seems to be at that point of satisfaction with the experience I've been aiming for all along.

Anyway, tho' i guess she's weaned, i wanted to throw her in the mix, 'cause yeah, I have a lot of experinece with clw, even if it is only with one kid.

Hello everyone! I just noticed the new forum. Right now I am tandem nursing, I have my 44 month old who is nursing every other day or so, and my 8 month old, who is nursing every other hour or so, :LOL .

I also have two older children who weaned just before they were 4. One advantage of CLW is that you can breastfeed for what seems like forever...I have been nursing babies almost nonstop for 11 years.

My ds is days shy of 20 mos. He shows no signs of slowing down and in fact is like a clock lately - every hour on the 45 min mark :LOL
