Hello ladies. I am here too
dd1-hospital born
dd2-home waterbirth w/mw
dd3-planned uc, after finding out she had passed away I asked my mw from my previous birth to be with us, water homebirth.
?4-up/uc & wanting another waterbirth

Nice to have some uc company over here on the august forum

Thinking about it but it scares me as we live 30 minutes from the nearest hospital. Trying to get a midwife, but with them living so far away, I might have a UC before they can get here!

glad to see some other UC mamas here! I am really getting psyched and wish it was August already! I can totally relate to the fear heldt123 and I think it's totally normal. Most of the time I'm pretty confident in my choice, then other days I really wonder if I'm crazy to do this, yk? weighing the pros and cons thought I feel I'm much *safer* going UC.

We've had 2 UCs and I'm hoping for a 3rd but not sure if dh will be go for that or not. We had a disagreement at the last one and he was really pushing for a mw "next time." Now, next time is coming and I don't want to bring up the subject cuz I am afraid he hasn't changed his mind.

He also wants some kind of help cuz he feels overwhelmed after the birth with clean up and all. There is no family or friend that I would want here. I love having just the two of us.

I am kind of interested in trying a waterbirth and he would definitely want a mw here for that.

We'll see.....

Well what would you know?

I just found out at 6.03 am this morning that I am DEFINITELY pregnant!!!!!!!!! I was really holding out on testing because I wanted to be able to just KNOW I was pregnant from my body but I wasn't 100 percent sure and couldn't take the "off color" feeling any more without being comforted that there was a reason for it!

I've known since just before Christmas at about 5-6 weeks I think but wasn't very confident in my body because it did this to me twice before and both times I ended up with my periods within a week or two! Anyway it was more than that this time so I finally tested and here I am!

And yes, I've been awake since 6, too excited to go back to sleep! I'm starving! Oatmeal for me then I'm heading over to the UC thread in the birth forums.

I have 1 DD, 2 yrs and a couple weeks old! I also only had 3 periods (started at 20 months after dd's birth) so I guess it was quick to fall pregnant considering! I've been waiting for 2 years though hehe still breastfeeding here. Anyone else?

Welcome and congrats!
I am still nursing my three year old, I nursed her through my last pregnancy with my angel baby too. Are you having any pain? I had a horrible time with sore boobs last time, thankfully this time none at all (so far!). Dd does not nurse at night anymore. I had planned on tandem nursing last time, not sure about this time, wondering if my milk will dry up again or not or if she will continue to nurse through a dry spell like last time. She will turn 4 a month after new babe is born.

I have thought about saying hello over there, as I am "due" the 29th, and I have two September kids already, but I really think this babe will be a day or two early. So far I am three for three for giving birth in the same phase of the moon as conception, we shall see!! You are more than welcome to hang out with us on this thread

how many of you have UC before? anyone vbac? also I was wondering how your dp/dh's are doing with it?

no uc prior, no vbac either (though my sister has had 2 successful vbac-hospital).

my hubby is great with it though! makes total sense to him and we're both introverts so it fits us well.

Hi!

Rainbowmoon, I haven't U/C before but the desire was there 2 yrs ago when I gave birth to my first child. I believe that if my mum was not present, DH and I would not have called the midwife. If I had thought about it more about why I felt the need to enlist the services of a homebirth midwife, I would have KNOWN what I only discovered after giving birth (and not had one)! Oh you learn as you go, and isn't birthing a journey of discovery too?

1st DD homebirth/waterbirth/lotusbirth with a midwife present as well as DH, my mum, brothers and dad!

2nd DC u/c! I may go late into September who knows. I am pretty positive I am spot on 2 months, making me due sometime mid August give or take but I'm just going to say August and leave it at that if others ask : )

NatureMamaOR, where are you!? I'm in Tigard and hoping that just perphas you're somewhere near me hehe

Oh and to answer the question Rainbowmoon had about DH's, well my DH is a worrier and has been brought up mainstream and has a horribly mainstream closeminded *cough* white redneck family here in America (I'm Australian btw)... but he's on my side!

He's always expressed how nice it would be for me to give birth just with with us present...he trusts me a lot and has faith in me that I will do the best thing. Once he stops being such a stressed out old goat he's just wonderful : )

Just wanted to let you all know that we will now have a forum of our own!!
There will be an unassisted birth forum as a subforum under birth and beyond!
