My midwife isn't going to bring her MW partner to the birth

WOW! I can't believe I'm getting so close.
We did all the usual stuff like pee strip test and blood pressure and listen to the baby. Baby's heartbeat was in the upper 130s so now I'm thinking it's a BOY!
Then I had a long talk with my midwife about my expectations of her role in the birth and how I like to labor. As she was leaving, she told me that she was going to contact a student midwife/doula to assist her at my birth since she didn't really feel that her usual midwife partner would have a similar philosophy. She said she felt this woman was a great match for me and would be a wonderful support at the birth. Boy am I glad we had that talk!
I'm a real hands off, go with the flow, procrastinate if I don't feel ready type of person. I guess she realized that her partner is a bit more hands on and pushy and tends to be a bit bossy and overbearing and excited about making the birth happen. I'm glad she realized it now and not AT the birth. Whew!

Isn't it just the best feeling to know someone is looking out for your best interest? I love having a midwife.
