CLW with bottle? - Page 2

I'm glad to see this thread. My first self weaned from the breast around 45 months. I had to pump for my second because she had a cleft palate. I pumped for a year and still have breastmilk in the freezer.

DD2 still likes her bottle at night and quite a bit during the day. She will drink from a sippy, but there are times when she really just needs her bottle. My thought had been to let her self wean from them when she's ready.

I would certainly have a very sad and angry baby if I just took the bottle away from her, now that she's over a year.

I just wanted to chime in to say to OP that how great that you are doing that for your child, letting them wean from the bottle slow and giving ebm. I agree that what amount she is doing won't have that effect on her teeth. Also, I thought it is when they are much older like 5 or 6 yrs. Always thought that is what I would do if I bottlefed is to let them natually wean. One of my sisters as a child had the bottle till she was around 4. So glad my mom didn't just take it away from her. I'm actually happy when I see an older child with a bottle or paci because no matter how you are fed they all still have that need to suck for comfort and so glad that their parents are letting them get that met even though they are "old" in according to our society.
