Favorite Board Books

We had a great thread on our old board about board books so I thought I'd start a new one for us.

The favorites in our house are Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown and Brown Bear Brown Bear by Bill Martin and Eric Carle. Those two are bedtime musts!

So what are your favorites???

Sandra Boynton!

ANYTHING Boynton, but his fave right now is Dinosaur's Binket. We read that multiple times each night, and if we pick up another book he'll take it out of our hand and replace it with the Binket book. (he's 11 mo)

The big plus for Boynton books is that they really lend themselves to animated readings, and grownups don't get tired of them as quickly, reading them a dozen times a day sometimes.

My 7mo. old's favorite is "Moo Baa Lalala" by Sandra Boynton. He smiles and starts bouncing up and down when I read it. I think he likes the animal sounds. I also like "The Foot Book" (Dr. Seuss). It has a lot of rhythm! I like the board book version of it best, the paper version is longer.

Goodnight Moon for sure!
My girl also LOVES The Lady With the Alligator Purse, and Baby Faces.
Also Head to Toes and In Between by Sandra Boynton.

My little guy loves:

~It's Time For Bed by Mem Fox
~Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Bill Martin (I think) and illustrated by Eric Carle
~Jamberry by Bruce Degen
~Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney
~Goodnight Gorilla (can't remember author)
~And now he like 'Twas the Night Before Christmas - we always get stuck on the illustration of the children with "sugar plums dancing in their heads." He loves illustrations and photos of children.

I love all the one's you mom's have mentioned. Here's a few more:

1.Mama, Do you love me? - Barbara Joosse
2.You are special - Max Lucado
3.Barnyard Dance - Sandra Boynton

And we had one called "Rock, Rock My Baby" when my ds was a baby. He loved it, chewed and drooled on it until it almost fell apart. I have it in a special place now. I even made a song to the book. He is 5 yo and still loves the song.

Anything Sandra Boynton-
Favorite is Moo, Baa, La La La. My 15 month old says lalalala and gets the book for me to read(5+ times).
Also the Going to Bed book

Dr. Seuss's The Foot Book, Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?, There's a Wocket in my Pocket. I read them all with sound effects.

We have so many favorites! After three kids....*I* have my favorites too! LOL

The boys Favoties are:

The waldorf Gerda Muller Books, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn.
Brown Bear, Brown Bear
Not a board book that I know of, but still a HUGE favorite is Everyone Poops.

Kaitlyn's favs were:

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Goodnight Moon
and Jamberry! This my personal favorite!

We have a load of Maisy Mouse books, but the real hit with our kids is a Japanese series on how to: brush your teath, use the bathroom, potty-train, wash hands before eating, putting on your clothes, getting ready for bed.

Really cute baby animals are used in the books.....

almost forgot her fav book!!!

Peek a boo zoo!

I have some issues with this book ,though.

The dad is missing from teh adventures, and in the second book, he is only on one page, playing alone (not with the mom and son)

It's hard to find good books that include the whole family.

Both my boys loved all the Tom Arma books. My second son is just now at 15 months getting into reading and those are always the books that he brings us to read. He loves looking at the babies and seems to enjoy the rhymes.

great topic

I am so surprised to see so many of the same books, which makes me think there isnt enough selection out there, or we all have the same great taste in books

My DH loves anything by Sandra Boynton, Dr. Seuss, Audrey and Don Wood(love the illustrations), recently Thomas the train(I find them horribly boring),anything by Margaret wise Brown, curious george!

I must confess I am addicted to buying him board books, but I think it is the one thing a kid cant have too many of, BOOKS gotta love em!!
