Joy and Momma2LiamandTara: I'll have your slings in the mail by Wednesday!!

For anyone that may be interested in ordering, I'd like to have all my sewing done by the end of the month so I have Feb to just hang out and get other things completed. Any questions, PM me.

I just got a MamaKangaroo stretchy wrap (beautiful burgundy with a pocket in a very nice pattern) + I have a Kissa-sling ring sling from my last baby (like the Maya but with stretchy soft fabric). We also have a back-pack carrier which DH uses with my toddler sometimes.

I used to have a BabyBjorn with my first 2 (before I knew other kinds of carriers existed) and I absolutely hated it!

I'm getting a Tricia sling in navy blue I can't wait to try this baby out in this sling. I only have a Baby Bjorn and it really hurts my back after about 30 minutes, so I'm hoping this will be the dream sling I've been looking for

I have a Gerry back pack, a NoJo sling and a snugli.

The backpack is obviously for use with an older baby, dd loved it but was way to into exploring for us to get a great deal of use out of it.

The NoJo sling has been used quite a lot, but it seems to have lots of fabric to it.
Any suggestions as to a less bulky sling that will work great with a newborn through toddler?
I know that there are loads out there, but it is much better to get real life opinions, yk?

And the snugli, which we bought at a yard sale, and I tried to put dd in it once, when she was 3 months old, and she had a fit of the worst kind. Hope to be getting some use out of it this time though.

I have read from many mamas that a good carrier for both newborns and toddlers would be a woven wrap (like Dydimos, Girassol or Ellaroo) or a MeiTai carrier (like Kozy, Sachi etc). You can go and check the BabyWearing board for questions about carriers

ella-makes-3: If you are used to a NoJo, then switching to a non padded sling may be the best for you. I'd suggest looking at the Maya sling or Taylor Made sling. Aslo I make a great nonpadded sling that has a pleated shoulder that I find that I prefer over the shoulder cap of the Maya. IM me if you want details. Only thing: I'm not taking any more orders after this month. With all slings mentioned above.... They are great from newborn to 35 lbs and are MUCH less bulky to carry around. I still use a sling with Chloe (who is 2 years old 25 lbs)

I've never tried a wrap, but didn't personally care for the Mei Tai due to not as much privacy. The unpaddes slings have great tails that are wonderful for discrete breastfeeding or shade from the sun. Hope that info helps. Take care!

Tricia
