What Sitz Bath solution do you recommend?

Where do you get them, what do you like and how do you use them? I am betting that this will be something I need this time around. I had a C/S last time and could REALLY have used this. Of course, it would have been nice to be able to get in the tub at all from his birth to about 3 months old.

I got mine from the hospital (dd was born in the hospital). They just sent me home with it. I recently saw them for sale somewhere - I think it was at the grocery store. I think it was something like $30.

The one I have you stick on the toilet and fill with warm water. Then there's an IV-like bag that you fill with hot water. You then sit on top and as needed you add some of the water from the hot water bag.

I had a cesarean last time too and didn't get a sitz bath. How does that work? Is it that much better than just sitting in an herbal bath in the tub?

What I am looking for is the herbal bath soaks that you can just dump in a few inches of hot bath water. I had a c/s last time and I STILL could have really used a good soothing soaking solution.

My mws bring an herbal bath for the tub, for both baby and me. Don't know what is in it - I'm sure you could find a recipe online and make one up on your own if you wanted to.

This isn't too late for you mamas who have already given birth - a friend of mine was telling me last night that she used this one about 2 weeks after her birth, and it helped so much with her healing!

My mws get mama and baby in this herbal bath (in the tub) after birth, while they're cleaning up.

Mine's made, and waiting in the freezer for birth day!

I used witch hazel ( lots of it ) mixed in with the hot water. It is so soothing.
