Could we have a Frugal Living Forum? - Page 3

Also, don't worry too much about what subforums there would be. I'm pretty sure it works by just starting a forum, and seeing what types of threads there are most of, then making subforums from there

Please be patient. This thread was just started yesterday and I can guarantee you that a new forum will not be created overnight. Adding forums involves discussions between Cynthia and Peggy along with Moderator input. Also remember that Cynthia is in Arabia, Peggy is in New Mexico and both have full time jobs ++++. The mods are scattered around the world as well.

I will tell you that this forum idea is being discussed. Those of you on the Frugal Mamas thread know that I am active there so please just take my word for it. No need to put extra pressure on Cynthia.

Now lets head back over to FYT until we have a decision one way or another.

Take your time Cynthia, Peggy, and mods...

We are just excited!!!

Maybe forum could be: Home Management & Finances

Just thinking about what goodcents said. I really like the idea of a separate forum but I have no idea of the practicality involved. If for some reason it isn't do-able I'll be fine with it! I just really appreciate having MDC to come to! It's my form of frugal entertainment!

Gee Jen. If we don't respond within 12 hours we're ignoring the thread? And why are you pronouncing rejection on a request? Do you know something I don't?

The reason for placement of a Television forum and the concerns over a SAHM forum have been explained and discussed and really have nothing to do with other forum requests. Each request is considered and decided upon individually. I'd appreciate it if you'd not make it an issue here or in any other forum request discussion.

As Stephanie said we are discussing the request for Frugal Living (and the more general Home Management idea). I will review it all with Peggy. Once I have a decision I'll let you know.

I don't see how "Home Management" is an appropriate title for anything to do with living mindfully with your money.
Anyhow, Thanks Cynthia for your response! I'm sorry some replies to this became so impatient! We'll all be patient and help any way we can!

I vote for a frugal board too!

I would go to a Home Management page for finances, though. I think finances are one of the central aspects to managing a home. How about Simple Living - that would be a good title, or maybe subforum.

I love the idea of simple living, but with the diversity of choices here at MDC, I am thinking that a general money forum might appeal to the broader population.

Thanks for taking this into consideration, Cynthia, Peggy & mods.

I'm down for that.

Yes, but managing your home is not the only aspect to living frugally or being concious about your money. Home management would make some great threads in a Frugal Living Forum! The word 'Frugal' seems to be turning some people off. Maybe 'Money Management' would be more appropriate? I still like Frugal LIving, though

i vote for this forum too

Ahh - I think we are looking at it from different angles No matter what they call it, I absolutely need this forum, and think it's a great idea I like 'Frugal Living' better than 'Money Management'. I think living frugally is about more than just money, 'Money Management' seems a touch too narrow. Yep, 'Frugal Living' would be just fine

Home management could include topics like voluntary simplicity too.

Just wanted to add my vote for this forum...I'm more into the concept of "simple living" versus being frugal, though!

I like home management.

Dready*mama....I just thought with the Home Management as the forum, we could serve the needs of many mamas, not just us ones in the frugal forum.

I have heard a lot of different comments about where to place certain threads ralating to money or organization, frugality or getting out of debt. To me the threads are hard to find and in forums that don't best explain what they are about.

I didn't mean to disappoint any one with my idea. I was trying to think of a way to serve the largest amount of our community if Cynthia, Peggy and the mods were to decide this were ok.

I apologize if I offended anyone.

I like "Simple Living" or "Frugal Living"

The reason I like the 'Home Management' idea is that it could then include the organization/declutter thing - which I would love to have also.
