Anyones baby experiance withdrawel after antidepressant pregnancy?

I hope this isn't my way of trying to talk myself out of it, (already made an appointment) but did you take antidepressants while you were pregnant? Did your baby have withdrawels/tremors/breathing problems? (The webdr site said that was a possibility)
Would you do it again?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I took Welbutrin while pregnant. I was actually involved in some type of documentation of the whole thing with the University of Minn. I took it knowing all the risks but knew I didn't want to end up like Andrea Yates. Lesser of two evils.

My son had no wtihdrawl symptoms at all. He weighed 7lbs 12oz and was 20" long at 38 weeks gestation. I would do it again. My son did have hypotonia, which he has grown out of -- they have no idea what caused this, but he is fine now but has to do speech therapy to catch up now since its gone away. Even after that, I would do it again.

Darsmama - I don't know the answer to your specific questions but wanted to let you know I am debating the whole meds thing myself. I am 27 weeks and I have a thread going about present partum depression in the pregnancy forum.

Here is what I learned so far. Wellbutrin, Zoloft and a few others are class b drugs which means they are "safe". The highest level of safety is an A, but there are no anti-depressants in that category. Levels C, D, and X - I wouldn't go there and docs probably wouldn't prescribe them anyways.

I am not sure how far along you are, but waiting until 32 weeks is best if you can. If I wasn't within a 6 week window I probably wouldn't wait if my symptons were as strong and persistant as they have been.

But for now, I am trying to hold out and so accupuncture and homeopathy until then.

Big hug - it sucks I know!

I took Celexa through my entire pg with my son and he didn't experience any of those withdrawal symptoms. He was pretty fussy in the early weeks, but who knows if that had anything to do with the medication. I'm pg again and still on the Celexa.

I was on Zoloft (50 mg) throughout my pregnancy. I had heard about the withdrawal symptoms in newborns and tried to stop the med toward the end of my pregnancy but experienced such horrible withdrawal symptoms myself that I went back on it. I didn't notice any symptoms in DS when he was born. He was 8 lb 3 oz, 20.5" at 39 weeks gestation, no breathing or other problems.
