I woke up this morning with a little sore throat and a few other ickies. What can I take to ward it off. I can't get sick right now. Teas, herbs????

I have had great success with Oscillococcinum (homeopathic remedy sold at most health food stores). I also take tons of Emergen-C powder with echinacea added, and zinc supplements.

I'm a garlic believer.

Crush a clove of garlic, put half on a spoon and drop it down your throat. Chase with Water or OJ. Repeat again.

Gargle with salt water to help clear up the sore throat.

Rest, rejeuvenate, eat well and get lots and lots of fluids.

I just went through this, I got a little sick but was only feeling bad for about a day. Take an immune boosting tea with any or all of the following: licorice root (only if you don't have high blood pressure), rosehips, echinacea, nettles, cleavers, elder, thyme, red clover, astragalus (don't take if you have a fever). Take a tonne of vitamin C, drink a honey, lemon, ginger, hot water concoction, take slippery elm and marshmallow for your sore throat, either as a tea, or there are slippery elm lozenges you can take. Take Homeopathic Ferrum Phosphoricum to head off the cold. Echinacea and Goldenseal...If you are nursing take it easy on the goldenseal, I would take it 1x a day for three days, but the echinacea is safe to take more often. I second the Emergen C's, they are great, and the zinc lozenges, but take the lozenges when you have something in your stomach, as they can be a bit hard on the tummy. Get LOTS of fluids, and avoid sugar as it
kills your white blood cells which in turn kills your immune system.
hope you feel better soon! ~Holly

I second everything everyone else has said. I will drink hot water with honey, and lemon juice and that helps you can add fresh ginger too for variety.
