How in the world do you untangle doll hair?

The kind that's like nylon? I've tried combing it with detangler and it really doesn't do much except get frizzy. Is there a trick to this, or are you just out of luck once it's tangled?

I'd love to hear any ideas on this. Abi got a model horse at the thrift store last week and its tail is sooo tangled. I finally divided the hair into sections (had to practically tear it apart to do that) and braided it to make it look neater.

It really depends on how tangled it is...detangeler works a treat if you catch it early enough! Try using conditioner if it is really really bad...and a brush not a comb...you will probably have to give it a really good tug...sectioning is the best approach....

I think you are "supposed" to use a wig brush (rather than a regular brush or comb).

We have a wig brush for DD's special doll. It's wire bristles in a soft base.

When I've had to comb out other doll hair, mostly horse manes and tails, I just start at the bottom like I do with DD's and mine and work my way up as the tangles come undone. Sometimes I have to "rip" sections apart, but I try to not do that much as doll hair doesn't grow back....

I would say to use conditioner, and the comb and rinse as you comb?

I read that liquid fabric softener works best for detangeling doll hair. I have tried it and it works rather well.
