Product name: Sling-Ezee, by Parenting Concepts

Brief description of product: This is a very heavily padded ring sling that comes in a small variety of cotton fabrics and in three sizes. It has a fairly shallow pouch, and a very large shoulder pad.

Store/Site of purchase: I got mine from a WAHM mom who is a distributor of the product; you can also get them at www.parentingconcepts.com

Price: I didn't pay for mine; it was a gift. But I think they run around $35.

How long have you used this product? Since my daughter was a week old, so a little more than 4 months.

Fit/Sizing: The sling comes in three sizes, and is very adjustable, although less adjustable than an unpadded sling because the padding does get in the way if you adjust very tightly. I would recommend buying a smaller size than recommended, and I would bet that very petite mamas (under 5') would be unable to use it at all. I am 5'3" and I have a medium size, but I wish I had a petite-- I can't adjust tightly enough to do a back carry.

Performance: The sling is very easy to learn to use, because the padding holds the sling open so you can get baby in and out easily. I have been able to do a large variety of holds just by experimenting. The sling comes with a video that is very helpful. The sling is very comfortable for longer periods of time. I found though that once I became an accomplished slinger that I wished there was less padding. The sling is very bulky and it looks kind of silly on, especially while your baby is still small. Also, the shoulder pad is way bigger that it needs to be, I think. The padding also means the sling tends to be hot, and it doesn't tuck into a bag easily. Good sling for a beginner, and for a mom who has struggled with the learning curve of other ring slings.

Workmomship: The sling is really well made. The fabric is great quality, and I have had no problems with the stitching or the rings. It washes really easily, and dries quickly. I anticipate using it for many years to come.

Customer Service/Communication: I did not deal with Parenting Concepts directly, because I received this sling as a gift. I did find their website very informative, however, in learning to use the sling.

Would you purchase this product again? If I were a first-time slinger again, yes I would-- this would be my first choice. But again, as an accomplished babywearer, this would not be my choice-- the padding interferes with versatility.

Have you made a complaint to the WAHM about the product? If yes, please provide details of any resolution or lack thereof

No, I have had no reason to make any complaints.

Additional Comments: Great beginner sling.

I give it (How many thumbs up out of five?):
for a beginner-- 5
for an experienced baby wearer-- 3 to 4
