the BEST birthday gift

my son is 4 and, lately, we have been to SO many birthday parties. of course, the kids are lavished with gifts that they rip open, glance at and toss aside in order to open the next gift.

well, we attended a party sunday and i purchased an i spy bag . this particular bag is a bit $ so i found one on ebay for much cheaper; here's a link to the seller's auction . this gift was such a huge hit. the birthday girl opened the gift and immediately started playing with it. she didn't want to put it down. her mother gently took it away from her so she could open the rest of her gifts and she was so reluctant to let it go. then her older sister, about 9 or 10, immediately grabbed the bag and started to play with it along with another child. i really like purchasing (and making) handmade gifts so it was so nice to see that this one was such a hit. these little bags can be filled with all sorts of goodies like barbie shoes, shells, coins, paperclips. i plan to make up some of these in the future.

btw, i am in no way related to the ebay seller referenced above. i can say that the seller was very, very helpful and made the bag to my specifications and mailed it super quickly so that i would have it in time for the party.

I think that looks great. My ds will turn 5 in May and I am going to get him one of those! OR maybe I will try and make one!
