Belly to belly nursing with a 34 month old?

This has been going on for about 2 months. Reilly pulls his shirt up for naptime nursing. He only nurses 3x a day now. He carefully positions himself so his bare belly is up against any exposed skin on my belly when I pull up my shirt. Then he settles in to nurse and fall asleep.

Anyone else experience this? It doesn't bother me--it's just a change. I did get rid of all my nursing shirts (since he only nurses 1x during the day, and rarely in public) so maybe he's just fascinated by this change?

He is a sweetie! He likes to caress my arm, too, while he nurses.

I think it's wonderful that his inutition led him to sharing skin-to-skin contact with you ... one of the most soothing experiences next to nursing!!! My 4.5 year old refuses to nurse when I'm wearing a nursing shirt unless I pull it up (like a regular shirt) because "I can't feel your warm, soft skin and feel as nice."

It's funny how things change. My ds, at 32 months, just started doing something different while nursing but it is not so pleasant - but funny. He takes one side and when he's done will usually take the other side. Then if he wants to go back to the first side he says "blah - it's all wet". Which it is but he never seemed to mind before! Sometimes he will still latch on and immediately let go and say that. He says "blah" as if it tastes bad or something. But it certainly hasn't dampened his enthusiasm for nursing!
