Why? b/c they can't believe anyone has a truly lasting relationships with only ONE person anymore and everyone's dh/ dp is a cheater and going to get them infected!

When I had my hospital birth I had to sign waivers for the eye goop and vit k and hep b. Also for the PKU now that I think of it. THey gave me a hard time on that one, and I have no idea why since my midwife does them I just didn't want the hospital to do it.

My OB does internals initial visit and any visit 36 weeks or later. My midwife on the other hand does no internals during pg unless of course there is a problem or you ask her to. I have been to births with her where she did no internal exams at all. She waits till 6 weeks pp to do paps.

My mother refused an u/s with her last pg and the dr was shocked. She said she has never in her practice have anyone refuse an u/s. When my mom asked her why she needed one the dr couldn't give a good answer.
