Help! 20mo DD nursing every half hour at night

I have to go to bed at 7:30 to get enough sleep. We get out of bed at 8 am. It seems like she wakes me up over 20 times to nurse at night! This has been going on for a few weeks. Previously she would nurse about 4 times a night. I've been trying to give her more solids during the day, but she has very little interest in them--less than before.

You might want to check for allergies. Nursing an allergic child is difficult- I have one and excessive nightwaking is common. Do you have pets? Is there tree pollen or mold right now? Dust mites can also be a problem. So can many food allergies.

It might be something else since I don't know the details, but worth looking into allergies.

Good luck and I feel for you. At 20 months, I was in the same situation, and at 35 months am still there when ds gets exposed to something.

Could she be getting sick? Getting teeth? The last time my 21 month old nursed that often at night, I was really frustrated, but it turned out she was getting sick.

Is she nursing throughout the day as well as eating solids? (when she is feeling better)

You might try nursing frequently during the day. Some moms don't want to nurse during the day or delay nursing when the toddler asks and then the toddler starts nursing all night.
