"good" yarn? - Page 2

I am a yarn snob too. : I don't like putting acrylic on my loved ones. Theresa and Allison pretty much said all of the reasons I have. I can't stand the feel of acrylic. It makes my skin crawl to knit with it. When I am knitting for other people I will use it if they really want it. i.e. I am working on a hat for BIL in a wool/acrylic blend. He wanted to be able to machine wash it. I started a LTK Easy Peasy for dd months ago using Plymouth Encore and I haven't finished it. I really should just frog it and then get something else for it.

What ever makes you happy is good yarn.

Pass that Plymouth Encore over this way! LOL I just bought some and I like it. Of course, I'm just making an afghan with it, maybe for sweaters it's not so good, I don't know........ (seriously, if you want to get rid of it, PM me, maybe we can work something out)

So, other than the super-cheap acrylic that NOOONE likes, it's pretty much just an individual thing, huh? Glad to know I'm not a sub-par knitter or anything just because I like the nicer acrylics and don't bother with wool. Although, after a trip to the fancy schmancy local yarn store, I can see that the super-expensive stuff has it's benefits. When I get better and this and find the right project, I'm getting some of that Debbie Bliss Cashmerino. It's SO amazingly soft! And some Blue Sky Alpaca...........*drool*
