Someone stole my stroller :(

We've had the same single jogging stroller for nearly 7 years. I had actually grown attached to it, which probably sounds dumb, but I loved it. It was a Baby Jogger and held up to all kinds of things. Anyway, I went to put it in the van yesterday and it wasn't in the garage where I left it. It's no where. Someone stole it! Can you believe it? We live in a really expensive neighborhood and are the poorest people here by far so I know it wasn't one of the residents. There is a ton of construction going on so my guess is construction worker or teenage kid playing a prank. I cried so hard which is silly but I was really upset. We don't have the money to buy another one of those strollers that's for sure. I found a stroller at Target today on clearance but I know I won't love it. Oh well, better the stroller than the baby, huh?

That's terrible! Have you looked on the side of the road? Someone stole my bike off my porch once and I found it three blocks away tossed into the weeds. Look around...I hope you find it or find a suitable replacement.

Someone stole the "safety man" I had at the edge of the cul-du-sac enterance to alert drivers the children were playing in the cul-du-sac. I couldn't believe someone would be so cruel as to steal a saftey item. It was probably the teens that walk through here on occassion.
Steamed, had to spend more $$ for another one b/c it is important to keep the kids safe. (we have 5 house on the street, 1 has taxis come and go, 1 is elderly, 1 has all sorts of people coming and going and speeding in, and my next door neighbors are speedsters as well)

Anyway, maybe your dh/dp moved it??? Maybe not. Are you saying someone came in your garage and stole the stroller???? Unreal. Time to lock the garage tight!!!

I just had to invest in a double stroller, I got a well used (means it was well loved) Graco duoglide for $36 before Christmas at a consignment shop! I would call around to some consignment shops and see what they have and how much. One shop wanted $50 for the standing up toddler spot!!! I've got 2 seats, way better deal.

That's awful
I could not believe this could happen, but to have a stroller stolen is not as strange and uncommon as one may think actually Specially in areas where everybody strolls around and where people know how much they are worth.
In Europe for example, people actually need to lock their strollers with bicycle locks so nobody will take them (strollers there cost an average of 500-600 dollars and are easy to sell second hand, so that explains why...)
A friend of mine from Oregon also had her stroller stollen because apparently people there know they can sell them for a pretty penny on Ebay.
I hope you find it soon! Just a though - maybe you can check on Ebay or local newspaper to see if somebody has just put up a stroller just like yours for sale. A friend found her stolen bike like that...

I feel like such an idiot. I am the most trusting person in the world. That has to stop. I'm going to keep checking around but I'm sure it's gone. I did find a stroller on clearance at Target for $40. I looked online to see about the brand/quality etc and it sells online for like $140! So at least it was a good deal for me.

Thanks for the support ladies. I do feel violated.

Also check your used kids' goods stores locally. We got our fabulous jogging stroller (same kind as your original) at one of these for about $40-60 (i can't rememeber which). Sorry. dh's bike was stolen in the fall with our brand new babyseat.

hope you find something you can grow to love.

I'm sure you do feel violated. It's so hard to imagine someone walking right into your garage (or even your yard) and just TAKING something. I'm sorry.

I second that idea! The kiddie consignment shop nearest my house has tons of cool strollers and other gear.

I've never had anything stolen like that (knock wood). The only stolen items we've had to deal with have been from moving companies. When we transferred from RI to NC back in '94, all my dh's hockey gear came up missing.

I would feel very violated too That stroller has a lot of sentimental value to you since you've used it for so many children. I'm really sorry that happened I know replacing it will never be the same, but I hope you can find something similar that you can create new memories with.
