I don't know whether to cry or cheer. I've done both lately as my dear sweet 4 1/2 year old has finally finished with Mommy milk.

We snuggle to sleep with the same songs and he still tucks his fingers in at my belly button. And he usually falls asleep faster than he did before.

He's our only so that was it for me and I am so glad I hung in there! My wonderful dh NEVER EVER questioned it and no one dared to challenge me. Well, except my ob/gyn's partner but she received a lovely letter and a LLL article for her trouble. My ob/gyn said she had no business telling any mom of a 4 year old to wean!

So keep at it everyone. You can do it!

That's so sweet. I know when Ems weans, I will be both happy and sad. Congratulations for nursing your son till he was ready to give it up. :

Wow! Thanks everyone. This has been an interesting change for us. Since ds is no longer nursing to sleep he needs a big bedtime snack. He says, "I'm going hungry! Quick find me some food!"
