Simcha, you certainly worked hard - and made the choices you had control over. Some choices were out of your control, and even when I know that's so (in my life), sometimes it's hard to let go of "might have beens."

Take good care of yourself and your baby girl - you both deserve it!

And thanks for sharing your story.

Simcha,
My heart goes out to you today........what hard inner work you are doing......accepting what is and also trying to put in perspective what could have been..........

The therapist in me wants to tell you that you have every right to feel angry even with the beautiful child in your arms - every right!! Not that we want to dwell on the negative but if you're at all like me sometimes I deny my feelings labeling some "good" feelings and some "bad". Many cultural messages tell us to put the birth experience behind us and focus on the child and personally I feel this is doing a disservice to ourselves, and to our journey.

I think of the scars I have from my two homebirth tears, these are a part of me now as well as the emotions I experienced. They guide me in my life and help me grow. I wouldn't be the person I was today without these tears or without the heartbreak I suffered in my life.

I wish you so much love and healing and hope you are well.
