Just made it down the stairs after a three day "confinement" on the bedroom floor. I think that was the hardest part of delivery! Well...
Isaac Stirling was born at 4:28 am on 01/20. He weighed 8lbs even and was 21 inches long. 23 minutes of push, kind of a long transition at 2 1/2 hrs. (one of my fears...but I handled it with the help of my AWESOME mw's), and dd woke for the birth itself and was wonderful, reading the baby stories (as I pushed), bringing stuff into the birth space (like bunny the wool toy, water, etc.) - any fears I may have had about how she'd handle things were silly - she was a champion! I felt so strong and wonderful after he came out - it was amazing the difference between that and the previous birth with dd (which was actually a SHORTER event at 22 hrs. - this one was Tues. night 10pmish to 4:30am Thursday - whew!) or about 28 hrs total. Active labor was only actually about 4 hrs., though. I am looking forward to hearing everyone else's stories!!! And how are Karen and Az doing? - I didn't see a thread for this week yet - did I miss it?
Take care all - what a THRILL!!!
