Homemade natural furniture polish?

Thread Starter
I have an antique mahogany table that is in need of cleaning. We usually just wipe it down with a damp cloh but there is food residue left behind and the table is in need of a good cleaning anyway.
I found a recipe online that is 10 drops of lemon oil, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, and a few drops of either jojoba oil OR olive oil. But before I try this, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with using homemade natural furniture polishes. (please list your recipe if different from the one I found)

Thanks

Lauren

I use vinegar to clean and olive oil to polish. You can mix the two together, but I pour them on a rag and rub instead. Martha stewart I think has used rubbing alcohol for deep cleaning...

We've polished our wooden dining room table with just olive oil on a rag. Depending on how messy the food residue is, olive oil alone may be enough to clean it. Otherwise, any kind of soapy cleaner can be used before polishing (just be sure to wipe off the soapy residue well!!)

I do a mix of equal parts lemon juice and olive oil. Wipe on and buff off. It will leave a slight slippery feel that will absorb into the oil. Works great!
