Difference b/w Dharma dyes and others?

I'm shopping around for a supplier of larger quantities of dye than those little 1/5 oz packages of Dylon.

I'm intrigued by Dharma Trading, I've heard so many good things about the products. It looks like I would need to use a bit less of her dyes than other kinds (like Procion MX) to obtain the same results. Has anyone tried both kinds and noticed a difference?

I'm doubly curious because I am in Canada, and I'm worried about tax/duty. (I'll post a seperate question about this).

Thank you,
Maylen

They carry procion dyes. MX dyes are a class of fiber reactive dyes. Dharma purchases single-chemical dyes from a manufacturer(don't know who, there are many) and then from those dyes the mix and create the variety of colors you see are their site. You could buy basic mixing dyes and then use those to create more colors. For info. on dyes and dye mixing see

Hope this helps

i can't say enough about gs. i get virtually all of my dyes there, even though i'm not in canada, b/c of their fabulous cs and personal attention.

I haven't tried my hand at dying stuff, but I want to 2nd pp's raves about cs at GS. It truly is great and they are really helpful. I bought lots of fabric there when I was getting married (prices were much better than others) and they offer good advice, instead of just trying to sell you something.
