Fourlittlebirds... do you by any chance have any research on the hormonal process of the fourth trimester? I think you're totally right. This one reason I stay in bed for a whole week. My bedroom door stays closed and if someone comes by dh greets them tells them about the birth etc and lets them know that baby and I are resting. The grandparents are the only ones that have ever been allowed to see the baby before the week is up, but even they have to wait three days.
I continually encourage my clients to babymoon, but would love some actual science to show support for this practice.

: ), AND this time I WILL take the effort to dry it out, grind it and put it in capsules. Postpartum hit me pretty hard and I have read a bit about the chinese method of doing this and believe strongly that it will make a huge difference after my next birth to take the capsules daily for as long as they last.

Not a UC, but itcould easilyhave been. This stuff is great though even for non-UCers. The "put stuff in a tote" is a great idea. Boy was that helpful when I was in labor and all someone had to do was bring the tote downstairs! Freezing meals is a great idea. I'mpart of a local AP group, mamas bring food to newly delivered mamas and it's a godsend. I tried all that listmaking etc etc before this birth and well, it didn't do so well. I did have diapering stuff and everything all within reachof the bed though and I have spent a lot of time in the bed. Have friends or family come over and help around the house. I can't express how amazing its been to have people come overand help and there are more coming! Anyway,I don't have much to add to this thread because it is so great, I was just all happy to see it since I'm babymooning at the moment
