Too many to choose just a few!

Zerkalo, Andrei Tarkovsky
Ivan's Childhood, Tarkovsky
A Child Is Waiting, Cassavetes (and most of his stuff)
Every film by Ozu -- Tokyo Monogatori, Soshun, etc.
The Servant, Joseph Losey
Rocco e i suoi fratelli, Visconti (very close to my own experiences in Italy)
Death in Venice and Gattopardo, Visconti
Riso amaro (Bitter Rice), de Santis (I love la Magnani!)
For pure entertainment, I have a terrible weakness for Capra -- I've seen all his films several times each -- and Howard Hawks (Only Angels Have Wings; His Girl Friday). The Shop Around the Corner, Ernst Lubitsch, too.
Kubrick's Lolita.

I could just go on an on and on.

I really love the original Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn (I know it was redone in the 90's, not bad but not the same). This is more of a fluff movie but I like Yours, Mine & Ours. The one with Lucille Ball and they have 19 kids.

I also like:
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
Casablanca
Easter Parade

My absolue favorite is On The Waterfront. Could watch it over and over again, and have.

Oh, same for To Kill A Mockingbird.
