Now this does make sense, from what I've read of the movie. The story has some Christian (or at least Biblical) analogies in the good vs. evil vein. The captain's wife commits suicide, right? Which is a big sin, meaning she'll go to Hell. Doesn't the captain see an image of wife with no eyes? If eyes are windows to the soul, well, he knows what happened to her, she's in Hell. Or at least, that's what the evil presense on the ship wants him to think. That, and I understand that whatever it is haunting the ship from the other side of the universe isn't a malevolent, living alien creature, like in Aliens. It's more like demons. For a movie I haven't seen I know entirely too much!

I read about it at imdb.com and netflix.com...
I'm a taurus. But I'm pretty sure my sensitivity is the result of mothering hormones. Pregnancy, delivery, breastfeeding, they all release those powerful chemicals that permanently change the physiology of your brain. I think that's on purpose. That way we have that overwhelming urge to care for these utterly helpless, crying, pooping, nursing, sleep depriving, generally demanding babies.
