"Michael Moore's gamble to hold his hit film "Fahrenheit 9/11" out of the documentary category - to boost its best-picture prospects - backfired. The movie was shut out across the board."

Bummer Michael - maybe your Expose on Modern Medicine movie will do better!

Oh well, I don't think he needs to win any awards...being one of the only filmmakers to stand up and highlight the atrocities that are George Bush is enough.

Looking forward to his view of "medicine". Nice, thanks UC Mom I didn't know about that one.

i dont think that his purpose in life is to win awards... he wants to raise awareness about the issues that HE believes are important.. of course winning awards is an extra bonus, but the fact that he can and has made so many eye opening films and is still alive is amazing to me.. he MUSt be on the US black list about 100 times..

I guess Mel Gibson should have also tried to put his Christ movie in documentaries. Maybe he would have gotten a nomination there?

Well Simonee, it must be based on FACT to be a documentary. So that would take the Passion out of that realm.

Guess Moore will just have to be satisfied with having the highest-grossing documentary ever!
