I have an awesome pattern for rag rugs made out of t-shirts that I want to try this weekend using some of dh's old ratty, too-small white t-shirts. But a white/cream rug isn't my style so I wanted to dye the shirts first. Here are my questions....
1) I'm pregnant, does that mean I can't/shouldn't use any particular dyes?
2) Which dye is best as far as staying power? Like I said, this is for a rug, I don't want the color to run when wet boots/shoes get put on it.
3) Any tips/tricks for a newbie dyer?
4) Is "dyer"a word?

even then, make sure they use gloves and a chem mask for particles. it really scares me when i see people who dye without these basic safety requirements.
