Mama cloth: Where do I start?

I want to make the switch to cloth. There are just too many options, and I don't know where to start! When I switched to CD, I made a LOT of very costly mistakes on diapers that just did not work. I ended up with a lot of diapers that I couldn't use and couldn't get much return in resale either. I don't want to make this same mistake again.

I want to start with pads. The Diva cup sounds interesting, but to be honest, it's a little scary to me, and I don't think I'm ready for that. I don't even really like tampons... pads are all I use. I need something that provides adequate coverage; sposie pads that I've used need wings to work for me, or they bunch up and I leak out the sides... I assume cloth would be the same? I find I need extra coverage for nighttime, and with sposie pads I have sometimes used two just to get enough coverage in front AND back.

Does anyone offer a sampler pack? I don't want to load up on one product and find out it does not work for me. This is looking really expensive, if I have to try one or two of every type, each with separate shipping costs. I would load up on enough to last me if I can, but not if I end up with a whole bushel of mama cloth that I cannot use or do not like.

Can anybody offer me some good advice on where and how to get started?

I would recommend getting a little of each. Dont buy a whole mama cloth stash that is the same until you know what works for you. I just started my first pp af and am using mama cloth for the first time. I also figured out that I need pads with side wings. I know some that have them are glad rags, freshies, MOE. I dont know if you want PUL backing or not, but that is something else to think about.
I would check some of the back posts on mama cloth and see what stores others have recommended.
