For those who have used the VB AIO pattern......

...did your finished product fit big or small?

Should my measurements be factored in before or after elastic?

I made a Medium front opening pocket I found @ the sewbaby.com site, and it fits my 26 lb. 18 mo. old really well, but I'm sure it's going to be huge on my youngest DS (12 1/2 lbs). I'd like to make some fitteds for my youngest (since the older DS has plenty of dipes) and am noticing that he's on the last set of snaps on SugarPlumBabies fitteds, but we don't own any VB fitteds, so I'm not sure of their fit. Should I go ahead and make some smalls or head right into mediums?

Sorry to ramble - any help would be appreciated.

I make aio's using the very baby pattern. My dd is approx. 20 lbs with chubby thighs/small waist and the mediums fit her really well.

I don't use the suggested soaker though - so please take my experience with a grain of salt.

I would try 1 small first - that sounds like the right size to me.

I use the pattern (aios) and also own 4 smalls from a wahm. My DD is about 17 lbs and 29 inches long and even though the rise is getting low she has alot of room in the waist

I have the aio, but just started making it, What I did first is compared an aio that fit ds well to the pattern, stretching out the elastic to see how close the fit is. Remember to take the seam allowance into account!

Thank you ladies, for your responses. I've decided I'm going to make a small fitted with my not-so-adorable fabrics just to see if/how it fits then go from there.

DH will be happy that I'll FINALLY be using all of the fabric we've been storing for the past year

Thanks again!
