OCM without the *oil.*!!! Seriously...my revelation.

Try it. It totally works. Apparently its not the oil that takes the blackheads out, but the massaging motion.
If you have oily skin like me, you can just do it with clean hands, but if your skin is drier, moisten your skin with a bit of water. After the gunk startes comming out, rinse gently and pat dry.
Ive been doing it for about 4weeks now and its working very well. Very well indeed.... I do it two or three times a week.
I stopped washing my face completly, cause, lets face it, I dont wash the rest of my body all the time, and its fine, so why was I washing my face every day? My husband never does and never has and his skin is perfect.
So it becomes overstripped, irritated, and goes all out of whack and balance....when you "wash" it... not that its "dirty" in the first place....If I get sweaty or dirty, Ill rinse up with a bit of water, like I would the rest of my body...
But man, oh man, I struggled with the ocm for months..., acne treatments up the yingyang and everything under the sun for years and years to clear up my acne.
Finally its gone.... (oh and the soy breaks me out too...)

So, I thought Id share that in the hopes that it helps one of you out.
Ive had NO zits for the past 2 weeks at all, for the very first time in my life, I like looking in a mirror.

Check this thread for OCM info.

I don't know much myself.

So you're just rinsing with water and massaging? That's it? I have really oily skin and tried OCM but it made my skin terrible and tooks weeks to recover. I make my own soap so I've been using that since it's gentle but I still get breakouts and have terrible blackheads.

Ok, you have to elaborate for me

You use warm water and a soft rag and massage your face gently? How long? Any other things I should know?

Thanks!

if i rub my face too much it makes it worse. maybe its the skin type? i use a very mild face soap, but i use it maybe once a week or less, and have never washed my face every day. i have terrible blackheads regardles and breakouts that follow my cycle ( ovulation and AF) sometimes i have mysterious clear periods. i bet it just depends on your skin type if this works. personally i think it sounds good, but just not for me, i would be scared to try it. i started using a washcloth on mine, not every day, and had th worst acne in years for a while, and i finally figured out it was th rubbing...just my 2 cents i think its still worth a try tho

I don't think you use a wash cloth.

Sounds interesting.

I've been doing this, with the oil every other day or so, for a week or two now. I LOVE it. Do the facial "massage" part without a washcloth, then use a steaming hot washcloth to draw out the gunk and grime that the massaging worked loose. Rub vigorously to remove the grime from your face, and repeat a few times to get everything off. Obviously you need to use a very soft cloth, some people I've read even use an old cut-up t-shirt if the washcloth irritates too much.

My skin is actually dryer using this method, even though it involves oil! So I'm still using my moisturizer after each cleansing. But my skin is shinier and more evenly-toned now, even after just a short time. Can you tell I'm LOVING it???

ok so massage with just hands first

and then a washcloth

I have been using spare baby wash clothes from WAHMs to wash without the oil...i will see how it goes.

Ouch!

I have oily skin, so I gave this a try. After about a minute of massage, the natural oil was gone, causing friction (not good).

I do love the OCM with the oil, though. Last night I had time for a longer massage (like 20 minutes), and I could not believe the junk that came out of my pores! It was the cleanest my face has ever felt.

jeyer, does the gunk come out when hand massaging the oil?

or with the rag to get the oil off?
It comes out during the hand massage. I can literally see the little blackhead plugs on my hands.

thanks, jeyer

just what I needed to hear.

Ok, sorry, I forgot about this thread!

I just gently rub and massage with my fingerpads. I helps to make faces to stretch your skin while you are doing it.
Some days I get loads of gunk and dead skin rolling off, and some days I get nothing. I only do it 1-2 times a week... and for only 2 minutes or so, dont over do it, or it will irritate your skin.

I dont use a cloth, it irritates my skin too much.

Im still not cleaning my face, It gets exfoliated in the shower with the rest of my body every 5 days or so, but no washing at all, and just rubbing the clogs out 1-2 times a week.

Still no breakouts, which is totally miracolous for me.
(Dh is telling me "I told you so..." lol, he hasnt washed his face in years)

Anyways, I just found that this works for me, (and dh) so I thought Id pass it on.

I started doing this a couple weeks ago after reading this thread. (Thanks Andrea!) I've been doing it in the shower, near the end so my pores are already nice and open from the hot water and it's easy to just turn my face and rinse. It amazes me how much gunk comes out from the massage - wow! So far, I'm a fan.
