It never came on UPN this evening. It was supposed to air at 8 pm EST but didn't. Anyone know what happened?

That's weird, DiaperDiva!
Sometimes it's pre-empted in my area on UPN by a Flyers hockey game, but then they usually run it later in the week.
How frustrating!

OK Buffy fans, what did you all think of the premiere?

I loved that they got all those old characters on.

But what's with Istanbul????? I know, I know, it's a teaser and it will all tie in eventually, and something's going on all over the world, some deep evil storm and all that, but I felt like I didn't get enough there.

Poor Spike. Is he having a nervous breakdown?

I loved it, too, but I always do:

jempd- I just wanted to give Spikey a big hug, poor guy! I kind of thought that the woman in the first sequence was another slayer, since Buffy died 2 years ago, and they haven't really mentioned anyone replacing her. She was pretty agile and tough, very slayer-like, so I kind of jumped to that conclusion.
It should be interesting this season! I can't wait!

Annais - I thought maybe she was another slayer too, but why would she be running away, not fighting? and I love Buffy and all, but I would LOVE to have anything here be pre-empted by a hockey game. We get zip!

jempd - I think that Spike is being tortured by his past since he got his soul back, now he has a conscience and remembers all the horrible things he has done. I think Angel went through the same thing. Dh wanted to know how we can call him Spike with his hair all curly...

Diaper Diva - in my area our Fox and UPN stations did this very weird thing - they merged into the same building, and switched channels. So now in my area Buffy is on the old Fox channel.

I thought it was a pretty good episode, I liked how they handled Willow, and it was sweet to see her and Giles bonding and healing and stuff. Dawn was way less whiny, Buffy less harsh to her. Looks like Dawn got her own Scooby gang now, I had heard rumors that if SMG leaves Dawn may pick up the peices and go, which seems silly because she has no special strength or skills.

Errr-argh!

I missed it! My girlfriend is in the hospital and we did a girls nite at her room to cheer her up. Her water broke 5 weeks ago and hopefully has another 4 weeks to go before the baby is born... She's doing well. Anyway - My dh was suppose to tape it but couldn't figure out how to plug our old VCR inot our new entertainment system to tape it

I hope it is rerun sunday like it was last season, although we are camping this weekend and may not make it back in time..... bummer.

So it sounds like Spike got his soul back. Is that what he wanted? or did he want to get rid of the chip?

I don't want to go into too much detail in case I do get to see it over the weekend. If not, I'll be begging for the info!

I was wishing with Spike getting his soul back that him and Buffy could get back together and everyone wouldn't be so mad about it. Eh, guess everything can't be all happy huh? And from what I've figured from last season's ending, I don't think Spike was looking for his soul... I think he was looking to get de-chipped. But thats just my opinion... Ok now I don't want to wait another week to watch the next episode!!

I am happy with the nights its on (tuesday) cuz dh has school that night and I can enjoy my girly show without him making fun of it....

Well, I thought the new season looked really interesting. Lots of threads to follow. Unfortunately that made the premiere seem a bit jumpy to me -- so many things crammed in to such a small amount of time. I have it on tape so may watch again to see if I can figure out a bit more.

OT, but our Fox and UPN channels switched stations, too. So it wasn't a local thing, but also not a national thing? How weird.

EPISODE TWO:

What did you mamas think? I thought it was better than the first episode. I like that it seems maybe, just maybe, Anya and Xander will work things out? and the ending with Spike, that was pretty powerful, him leaning on the cross. At the end last year I kinda hoped that Buffy and Xander would get together, but maybe that would be too many scoobys cross-hooking up or something! But I imagined kind of a slow build up, not like her and Spike, but like them slowly realizing their feelings or something. But hey, I like Xander...
