Ooh, you guys have reminded me of a lot of great movie soundtracks. Harry Met Sally- LOVE Harry Connick- got every album but Star Turtle.

And the Muppet movie? Yes, yes!

Oh yeah, The Big Chill--I used to listen to that one all the time.

I also love the soundtrack for Grosse Pointe Blank, Star Wars, Nightmare Before Christmas and the Rhythm of the Pridelands which was music from The Lion King, but not the main soundtrack.

Oh, I have so many favourites.

Valley Girl is likely one of my favourites as how you can not love a soundtrack that has The Plimsouls (a great and underrated garage rock band), Modern English, Psychedelic Furs on it?

Another favourite is Billy Elliot - T Rex AND The Clash AND The Jam ? Fantastic.

I like Urban Cowboy's Soundtrack because I think it a great snapshot of that particular time in the 80s when country was really "hot".

One of my favourite movies - Who is Afraid Of Virginia Woolf - its soundtrack by Alex North is so beautiful and haunting it can make one weep.

Midnight Cowboy's soundtrack is also a favourite of mine.

Crossroads Walter Hill's Blues film, NOT Britney Spears' self-indulgent 2002 fluff is a terrific introduction to a uniquely American 'sound', with a remarkable cast and southern 'atmosphere'.
Great blues tune by Ry Cooder & more !

A Hard Days Night

Help

Yellow Submarine

Saturday Night Fever

Breakfast Club

Real Women Have Curves
Love the Latino music on this one

We have this movie and sondtrack. I agree it is very good and one of our favorites.
Dh and I were alittle dissappointed though that the awesome duel at the end with Steve Vai was not on the soundtrack.

Ok..before I read any replies and get influenced...here are mine...

1. High Fidelity
2. Garden State
3. Singles (Seattle Grunge anyone? Yummy)
4. The Crow (The Cure and NIN, yummm)
5. Trainspotting

And I peeked..I totally have to agree with RHPS. There's not one out here in Lubbock...I miss going....but occasionally I dress up and watch it at home.

I also have to say...ANYTHING Quentin Tarantino touches has a fabulous soundtrack, IMHO. I love Reservoir Dogs..."K-Billy Super Sounds of the 70's"....Steven Wright is hilarious.

Ok..I'm done.

Oh, and I have to give an honourable mention to the best use of a song in a movie:

Scotty Doesn't Know in the movie Eurotrip. Never have I enjoyed a running gag more.
