Dare I say were nearing the end??

My dd who was born 10-21-01 is weaning!!!!!! She didn't nurse yesterday and once the day before that. When we do nurse its short bc I am preggo and not lovin it too much ya know? But if this is the end I couldn't be more happy that it was so peaceful. There were days I thought she'd nurse til high school! She was up every couple hours when she was 2 and it just slowly took it own course. One day I realized she hadn't woken up to nurse all night, then today I realized 3 days passed with no morning nursing and that seemed to be a big one for her as well as before sleep. But the before sleep one could be like 2 minutes and she was good to go. I love nursing but I sure could use a break before # 2 get here!

Thanks for being here MDC mamas I would of NEVER made it this long without this support...most people IRL prolly think we have weaned long ago.

My three year old weaned when she was about the same age.

it kind of made me sad but it was kind of nice at the same time.

(Warning: it could go on a loooooong time after this, lol).

Sounds like you are having a wonderful, loving weaning.

Send some vibes my way mama! My dd (10-15-01) is showing no signs of getting tired of nursing. I don't mind really but I think if she decided to give it up I'd be okay with that.
There was one day when she didn't nurse at all and I thought that that might be the beginning of the end, but no. Of course, without nursing I'm not sure how I'd get her to take a nap!
Anyway, good luck with your little one

I think that my son is just about done nursing, too. He only asks to nurse about once a week now. The milk is still there for him when he wants it (dd's nursie milk!).

I hear you on the pregnant nursing! Ds was still nursing often (at 26 months) when I got pregnant. He only slowed down a little when my milk dried up. Ouch. That's when we started counting to 10, and letting go on 10. Then we switched to months, then we went to reindeer (Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen . . .)

I'm ready for him to wean. I was expecting something more bittersweet, but I'm ready!
