Has everyone decided on names? - Page 3

Kash, I have seen that Jillian has been spelt with a "G" more often. My cousin has a Gillian.

Jennie, We call our DD by her middle name all the time But I think I started it- It is easy to say, and just works, but when she is in troulbe it is RAINEY FAYE! But we call her Rainey about 1/2 the time and Faye the other 1/2.... But no one ever called me by my MN- so I guess if you dont start it no one will :LOL

However, the weird thing is I HATE when other people call DD Faye- it drives me bonkers It makes my blood just flame! It is like when people call me Angie- I hate it unless I went to school with you If my family calls me Angie I freak out on them! Call me Angela or Ang! :LOL

(the traditionalist namer comes out of the closet)

My dh and I are both pretty traditional about names: we like family names. I always feel like the namesake ancestor takes special care of their namesake baby. My dd for example is named after both my grandmothers. For this baby are choices are:

Sarah Constance (we both have Sarah great-grandmothers; my MIL is Constance, my aunt is Connie)

Matthew Andrew (my DH is Andrew, but he absolutely REFUSED it as a first name, and somehow Matthew came to me and I can't let go of it.)

Our problem is that DH has 8 nephews, so male family names are pretty hard to come by (not to mention that there are really only two male family names in my family: John and Charles and I don't like either one ) He has 7 nieces as well, but there are many more female names available.

Well, I guess middle-of-the night insomnia has hit (I'm 37 weeks!), so I'm browsing the MDC boards!

We have decided on Drew Thomas for a boy. Not Andrew... just Drew. Thomas is after dh's grandpa. I love it! My dd's name is Avery Lauren and I think the names go well together. I also think it's a good name for a little boy and a grown man! To be honest, I like the name so much that I find myself thinking I will be disappointed if I don't have a boy! This is our last baby, so I won't get to use it in the future!

Girls names.... This has been the hard one!! We were considering Kendall (no mn yet), but I'm starting to have second thoughts. Do we really want two girls with unisex names? I think both names sound very feminine to me (can't imagine naming a boy either name these days). We also considered the name, Neva, for a girl and it's still on "the list". I also like the name, Violet. There's just something sweet and refreshing about it to me. It reminds me of picking little blue violets out of my yard as a little girl. I also like Tatum and Sydney. So, as you can see, I have several names I like, but nothing "feels" right to me.

Maybe we'll just be waiting until baby arrives to tell us what to name him/her!!
