As for the whole welfare abuse thing Gawd, I've been in so many of those debates on MDC and I find I just take it too personally, so I'm not going there either. For the most part, people either get it or they don't.

I'm just crashing the party to inform Joan that she's a big bad scary anarchist. We used to have an anarchist thread, but it got shut down along w/ the other political affiliation threads. So you'll just have to find us on our own... like an easter egg hunt!

we can have political discussions, but we can't have tribes or chat threads by political affiliation. like, there used to be a conservative chat, a liberal/progressive chat, an anarchist chat, etc... if you want to start up a thread to discuss anarchism i think that's allowed, you just can't have a thread *for* anarchists.

but isn't it more fun to have an easter egg hunt? look, you already have 2 pretty ones in your basket!

Huh. (That's my smilie for today) I guess I just don't get why we can have tribes for every other catagory except political affilitation. Strange.

Uh...so is there a secret handshake or something? I never thought of anarchy as being an ideology in and of itself. I see it more as a component of certain other beliefs. Maybe that's why I never joined the club.

(btw: Has it occured to anyone else reading this thread that we may have won the prize for taking a conversation as far ot as possible?)

Yeah, I believe the rationale was that it was "divisive." I have my opinions about that, but whatever, this is a privately owned website.

Yep. There is an initiation ritual too, and it's not for the faint of heart, so you should think carefully abuot this decision...

I agree - that is how I see it too. I do know some anarchists who act like it is an exclusive club, but they are obnoxious hypocrites IMO.

I see it like you do - a component of other beliefs. Or maybe as an underpinning for other beliefs, and a common thread that sort of runs thru my other beliefs and therefore my choices and actions. I also like to see it as a goal - a guidepost for the world I'd like to create and the way I'd like to live my life. If that makes sense.

Seriously, we should start up another thread to talk about it. It just can't be a tribe/chat thread, is all. If you don't beat me to it I might do it later when I have time.
