Loved the movie, love the soundtrack--we listen to it all the time.

Okay, I don't usually post just to add my negative two cents, but I thought this was one of the WORST movies I have ever seen. I thought it was like a film school movie that had a million different pretentious lines going at the same time. I thought it was overwrought, pretentious (have I said that already ) and HIGHLY annoying. Which might be how ya'll feel I am after reading this reply. :

Its so amazing how different people see media of all kinds!!!!

I really liked this movie so did dh. I thought the premis of the movie was really interesting....I also work in the mental health field!!! To have your dad as your psychiatrist is just mind boggling, not to mention someone trying to keep their kid medicated like this since 12....I mean everyone on the plane in the beginning was freaking out around him and he just sat there cause he was so over medicated.

I also liked how he fit into Natalie Portman's character's family. He got love from her mom for just being there...saw how they took in the man from Africa etc.

Good movie. But totally understand how others could say the complete opposite.

I thought it was OK. The main reason I saw it was because Natalie was in it. It wasn't her best work, I liked her better in Leon and Beautiful Girls. I'm so glad I got to meet her last year.

I also really like Ian Holm, who played the father, but was disappointed he didn't have more to do in Garden State. It would have been really cool if his head got ripped off, like it did in Alien.
