What's your Household Budget? - Page 2

Thanks to getting out of debt We now have about 80-100 a week compared to last year where we had 40-50

How exciting!!!! We should have a little more than that a week soon (we are paying off a few things this week that will open another 25 or 30 a week!!!)

We dont really have a set budget either but I just figured out after our mortgage and other bills we have 125 a week leftover for groceries/gas etc. We are a family of 3 (plus 2 dogs that go through a 22 pounds of dog food a week). In the summer/fall we have about 200 a week (dh makes more in summer/fall). We are in southern CA.

For the 3 of us,
we have about $250 a month for food, gas, everything besides bills.

I budget $75 a week for groceries and all household needs, such as cleaning supplies, toilet paper, cat and dog food, etc.

My husband and I each have $40 personal spending money each time he gets paid (twice a month) which, in reality, becomes the money we spend on unexpected things: a new windshield wiper, for example, or the copay to take our son to get his stitches out.

Other things, like linens and shoes that were mentioned, we basically don't buy. We beg, borrow, or Freecycle for them. If we absolutely can't get what we need for free, we will break down and buy it, and that usually comes from whatever money we have left in checking after we put money in savings, and pay the bills.

I put a certain amount into savings each time my husband gets paid, and my goal is to see how much additional I can put into savings after all the bills, gas, and grocery money has been spent.

Namaste!

Oh well - such is life! Really - you mamas who do it on less I applaud you!!! Its just DH, myself , & baby we're in WI

I budget about 300 every two weeks for food gas and any other extras like a movie or fun things. (most of it goes to food and gas though)

On paper I have about 100$- 150$ left over every two weeks to put into savings- or spend for misc( this does not count groceries)- but for some reason we have these silly bills that pop up and take it!
I am trying to drop our monthly food and grocery budget down to 200$ for the next 6 months. It normally is between 400-600 a month- so this will save us a ton.
I HAVE TO GET SERIOUS THO!!!!
I know that I can do it.
IF ds was potty trained it would be better- since we use sposies- but I am going to start using cloth wipes here at home- and no more paper towels- etc.

wow! what a range.
there are three of us and I think we average 100 bucks on groceries, maybe 200 bucks total on "running expenses" not bills. I'm working on getting out of our debt and I think I'd like to get that down to like 75 bucks on groceries and 150 dollars total.

We have ~100 a week for groceries and misc. stuff...sometimes it's a bit more--sometimes it's a bit less (like this month--~50 a week)...it's challenging!
