are any of your children overweight?

I'm wondering if there is any difference between "meal eater" and "grazer" children in whether or not they are overweight. I honestly have no idea if there will be a difference. We are grazers, and my kids are a little underweight. But I have no idea if there's a correlation.

My son is definately a grazer. He is slightly "underweight," but he's just a small guy in general.

My kids eat meals and graze, but I picked graze because that is probably what they do more. Both are a healthy weight for their body build.

My kids eat meals. I couldn't figure out the option that describes them, so I didn't vote. My 7yo is very slender. She eats like a horse (the kid will put away half a pound of pasta some nights!), but is extremely active. The other is pretty much bang on where she should be on the charts. She eats normal sized meals and is active, but no where like her sister.

I didn't vote either because none of them really fit my kids. I've got 4 extremely good eaters. They will all finish their meals (including the 19month old) and ask for more. I'm not sure what is considered normal weight and what is considered underweight for their age/height. My 12yo is 5'7" and 120lbs, my 10yo is 4'5" and 66lbs, my 6yo is 3'9" and 47lbs, and the baby is 31" and 24lbs.

We do a combination of grazing and mealtimes here. DS tends to graze all morning, eat lunch, have a snack in the afternoon which sometimes turns into grazing, and then we eat dinner. I voted "mealtimes and normal weight", though. I don't know how tall DS is or how much he weighs, since we don't do well visits, but when you look at him he is a normal toddler size, not too fat or too skinny. I think he's a little tall for his age.

My kids (8, 4 and 1) have three meals a day put in front of them but it is their choice as to how much they eat. Sometimes it is as much as an adult; other times it is barely enough to keep a bird alive. But I figure it all evens out. I am not worried about it. They also have snacks between meals if they ask for it - even fairly soon before "dinnertime". I try to have healthy stuff like fresh fruit and yogurt but they also like pretzels, crackers and cheese, etc.
All three are what I consider to be an appropriate weight. My dd2 and dd3 are height/weight proportionate. Dd1 is a stick! REALLY skinny but I was too at that age - nothing puberty won't fix...

I answered that my kids eat meals and are normal weight, but really, my dd is underweight. She'll eat full meals, but she's just on the go so much that she's very thin. My boys are normal weight and eat like champs. I'm afraid to see what they'll be eating when they're teens seeing as their eating right now is putting a dent in our grocery budget and they're only 13 months!

My ds is a very picky eater but he does eat meals and snacks. He is 3.5 yrs and weights 25 lbs. - so he's not-even-on-the-charts-underweight.
