Bad Bad Baby

Sorry I haven't been posting a lot, but now i need to whine/ vent/ ??? My due date has come and gone. We went for a 40week and 3 day prenatal today and the BAD BAD BABY has turned breech. He was head down last week!!!
They tried to turn him back today and he wouldn't budge. So we're going back on Wednesday to try again. My ND suggested swimming in the meantime, so tomorrow we will go to the pool.

I'm soooo pissed and scared. I don't want a medical birth. Raven was tortured out of me and I don't want that again or even worse.

Why is he doing this to me?

He's supposed to be here already, not turning somersaults in my uterus.

I feel like a failure already and I'm nowhere near labor.

I'm so sorry! He's not doing it to be mean, you know that. He's just all squished up and trying to get comfy. There's still hope he'll turn back around. Have you looked into some of the things you can do to help turn him? I know there is atleast one thread around here about it. It'll be okay!

Oh, I'm so sorry, please don't think a medicalized birth has to be bad, it doesn't, especially if you know in advance it could go that way, you can prepare to still make it wonderful for you and your babe. I had a scheduled c-section, that turned bad during it (spinal wore off) but I still had choices and my memories of Molly's birth are all wonderful and she was in no means tortured out of me.
There is still lots of hope your little one will turn at the last moment, definitely try chiro and other methods, but don't beat yourself or your baby up if they don't work, instead, list your priorities and wants for the birth and talk to your doctor about achieving the most peaceful medical birth you can get.

Well, we went swimming. Even if it didn't turn him it took my mind off of it for a whle and gave me a little energy.
The ND is going to try turning him again tomorrow. If that doesn't work she suggested a perinatologist? (I have no idea how to spell that.)

Thanks for all the good wishes. I'll try and keep you posted.

So... we went in on Wednesday and the little darling was head down again . Guess doing a bunch of hand-stands in the pool really helped.

So yesterday I went to get accupuncture to try and move things along and had really good contractions all afternoon and evening. Then I made the mistake of going to bed, which stopped everything cold . So today we went for a 3 hour walk and nothing.... Arrgggghhh!

But at least he's the right way round.

I know I'm not a member of your EDD club (I read other forums for insights), but for those of you interested in chiropractic for helping breech babies, you can go to this website:

www.icpa4kids.org

There you can find a pregnancy/pediatric chiropractor in your area and ones who are certified in Webster technique (the technique that can help a breech baby turn). If there is an ICPA member in your area who doesn't have the certification, call anyway. They likely know the technique but have not paid the money to get officially certified by the ICPA.

Sadkitty,
I'm glad your baby turned w/o invasive intervention!!!
