My 7 year old just asked me the other day why a t-shirt in a shop window read

"Pedro for President" - I had no clue why!

Is this movie appropriate for younger kids?
I let all of my kids watch it. The ones who got it are 13, 10, and 6. They walk around quoting ND all the time...so does my dh. I asked my 13yo dd today if she'd dress like him for Halloween because I've never seen a better impression of him! It's hillarious!

"How was your day?"

"Worst day of my life! What do you think?"

"Come eat your ham, Tina, you fat lard"

I let all my kids watch it...they are 4, 7, 11, and 14. They all LOVED it, and they all quote it constantly.

I got my dd the running horse t-shirt for her b-day at, you guessed it, Hot Topic.

She had already bought the DVD with her own money and let me tell you honey, she does not part lightly with her $$$, that girl.

She had a crush on Nap. I think it is finally subsiding. She used to love Carrottop. I think Nappy-D is Carrottop lite.

We have a mixed household here.

DH and I LOVED IT! :LOL OMG it's so flippin funny! :

My 11 yr old hated it but my 11 yr old neice LOVED it! She has a "Vote for Pedro" t-shirt! I want one!!!! :LOL

It is a love or hate movie. I think it's so freakin funny though!

I'd say it's appropriate in that it isn't offensive--no swearing, a couple vaguely sexual references and a couple shoving matches.

However, my 6 year old watched a little bit of it and just thought it was stupid.

I, on other hand, absolutely loved it!

For those of you who don't "get" it...Watch it again. I didn't laugh much the first time, but the second time OMG! Giggle fits on top of giggle fits. Being hyper to begin with doesn't hurt either. I really think it's one of those movies that get funnier every time you watch it. Another one that I'll never get tired of is Kung Pow.

Yes, I had to watch it more htan once also before I htought it was funny. The first time, my dh is sitting htere cracking up and I was just like, um, hon? This sucks. Why on earth do you l;ike this so much? But I sat through the whole thing. And I found over hte next few days, we'd mention it. I'd remember some scene and giggle a little at how ridiculous hte whole thing was. It was very quotable. So I watched it again and couldn't stop laughing! Then again and it was even better :LOL

Yup! What did it for me was the day after I watched it the first time, one of my sisters said "Your mom goes to college!" in the Kip voice. I fell apart.

Gosh. We flippin' loved this movie. It's just so, um, Mormon. (So are we.) It's like it's stuck back in the 80's like I've heard Idaho still is. And we've been saying "flippin" and "gosh" for years, seeing as how we shouldn't use curse words. Definitely buying this one.

"... I was fighting wolverines. What would you have done?!"

Then you obviously have never seen, Manos, the Hands of Fate. THE worst movie ever made. Plan 9 From Outer Space is pretty "bad" too.

I didn't get it but I was very tired when I saw it. Will try again sometime soon via Netflix.
