Any of the SSRI's are considered to be fine. Zoloft is one of the more recommended one's and I believe that it is mentioned by Hale as one of the safest. I have known moms from my breastfeeding group who have nursed on every different SSRI, and many who have been in a study at the university in my town about ssri's and breastfeeding mothers. All of their outcomes were great, and they were taking different meds.
One thing to remember, while a doctor may tell you that one med is better while nursing, another doctor may tell you that another med is better while nursing. Everyone seems to have a different opinion, and I'm not sure that any one opinion is better than another. Every SSRI is slightly different and what works for one person may not work for another. For some people it can take a couple tries to find the right one. The best SSRI for you while you are nursing is the one that works the best for you! I have been on both Lexapro and Zoloft and if I need to go back on one I will likely choose the Lexapro simply because it is cheaper for me through my insurance. They both worked great, and I'm equally comfortable with both of them.
