HBAC...it can be done...

I just want to let those who have had c-sections to know that home birth can happen!!!!! I had a section with my son due to toxemia and had my daughter at home 5 mo ago. I had a good labor and wasn't in as much pain with contractions as I thought I would be. I had a hbac planned and was determined to have it that way!! I wanted a waterbirth but it didn't happen that way and she was born in my bed, all 10lbs 4oz of her!! I will admit it wasn't as easy as I hoped but it wasn't unbearable either! I really was happy with the experience and just wanted to share a bit of my story!! I know I came on this site while I was preg and considering hb and I found a lot of encouragement from it! Thank you to all who posted their stories in the past!!

I'm glad to hear of your sucessful home vbac. It is empowering not only to you, but to many women out there to know that it is possible to give birth vaginally after a cesarean section. Congratulations on the birth of your new baby!

Congratulations! I'm looking for a CNM for a HBAC- we're not pregnant yet, but I want to find one before I am... Did you have problems finding yours? It seems that with insurance an all that it's getting harder to find someone willing to do a HBAC.
