Toddler gets symptomatic every 5 weeks

My ds, 26 mths, gets "sick" every 5 weeks. He starts with the runny nose and then it develops into a hacking cough. The whole process usually last about a week from start to finish. I keep attributing it to teething. He still doesn't have his back molars and he has 4 more that are not completely in. He gets adjusted regularly ( I'm a chiropractor), still breastfeeds a lot , eats nutritiously (no junk, no dairy, no processed foods, etc), and gets enough rest. He doesn't go to daycare but does attend Montessori 3 mornings a week for 3 hours. I don't think it is school because it happened even before he started going. Has anyone else experenced teething like this? I would have posted this under dental, but I thought I'd get a more diversified response here. Like I said...I think it's his teeth. I just can't figure out what else might be so predictable time-wise. It really happens every 5-6 weeks. Weird! Thanks for the help. Dawn

Mine does too. He has since 5 months old. He is 2 now. It isn't teething -- he's had all his teeth for awhile now and it still happens. More than half the time he ends up with wheezing, ear infections, or pnemonia. But always starts as this every 5 week cold. I can predict them almos to the day.

I have no idea what it is. If anyone has any clue -- I'd love to know. I've sort of just settled on allergies. Seems he gets sicker in the winter months. And he has an obvious reaction to fresh cut grass or wet leaves.

Mine have done this too. All winter long..just when we would get over things and back into a groove..they would get sick again..it is the most frustrtating thing....

I guess I should take them to go see a homeopath and see if we can't find out why...

Any way it's allergies?
