My Beloved Aunt has passed...

This is my first post in the forum.

I don't know what to say. My Auntie Audrey passed away Saturday from a sudden fatal brain annerism(sp?)

She was working out and fainted. Her last words were that she had the worst headache of her life.

I am beside myself with surrealism. She was the Aunt that was the most groovy. Going barefoot, painting my toenails, celebrating life!

She will be greatly missed....she was only 55. Life is so short.

Thanks Rachelle and LisaMarie. Just trying to figure out my feelings and my grief for my uncle and cousin. I feel so sad for them! They were all so close. Just trying to remember how fantastic Audrey was and how she really had a role in shaping who I would be as a woman.

Oh, you must be hurting so bad. So young and so sudden.

I had a special aunt that died unexpectedly too. You feel like you didn't get to say goodbye.

Ah, Thanks you guys, Libmom, Dar and Ard, thats sweet of you to post!

Yeah, its sudden, I am in serious denial. But next Saturday is the memorial in our home town. So the entire family will be celebrating her and her life.

I can't wait to see everyone, it will be grounding for me.

Thanks for all the well wishes!

My Auntie was my most unique Auntie. She was tall and beautiful, graceful and kind. She always asked such interesting questions and really listened to the answers.

My most fondest memory was when I was just a little girl, it was summer. I was taking swimming lessons at the outdoor pool. Before lessons Auntie Audrey painted my toenails bright red and then we walked to the pool and she sat and watched me swim.

She would always tell me how lovely I was. How pretty and sweet I was. Something very few people did back then since I was a real tomboy.

She crocheted sandals for me that were footless. She had some too.

She was so lovely......

I'm sending you lots of love and hugs. A year and a half ago, my aunt died of pancreatic cancer at 52 and not a day goes by that I don't miss her. And people treated it as if "oh, your aunt, no big deal." But she was my touchstone, as I imagine your's is to you.

So sorry. Thinking of you -

She sounds like such a positive role model, gentle spirited and wise woman. You are so lucky to have been touched by such a sweet soul.

:LOL Dar...

They are single crochet 'strips' that have a toe ring and a pinky toe ring that do up around the ankle. The strip goes from the toes to the middle of the front of the ankle. Hope that describes it.

My Aunt just loved to go barefoot...once when they were visiting we went to the exhibition and stampede and she walked all over the grounds with barefeet! The bottoms of her feet were always black in the summer. So unique. Specially cause my Mom and Dad were and are super cleaners, every thing santized. It was a welcome relief!

Thanks for clearing that up MM.

My Aunt Marge that passed unexpectedly was actully my great aunt. She was a huge bosomed women with short unpermed grey hair and wore a grey leather bowtie sometimes and actually carried, in the warm months, a straw box shaped pocketbook with huge plastic strawberries on it. She gave the best hugs and loved to laugh. It was nice to have her, b/c my grandmother, her sister, was rather undemonstrative and demure.
