Can you suggest a book of inspiration?

Hi everyone, I've been reading quite a bit of non-fiction stuff about the state of the nation, the negative aspects of our culture, the environment, etc. and I'm feeling a little depressed. Can you suggest something positive as a pick-me-up? Something reflective, to inspire, to make me think about my place in the world and how I might give something back. How to be a better person or a better mother. That sort of thing. Thanks!

Well, it's definitly Christian themed, but The Purpose Driven Life is quite good.

Well, I am not sure if it's what you are looking for, and some folks didn't care for it but I would recommend "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom. It's all about how every single person matters, and what they do matters... even if they don't realize it. I found it a very touching reminder of some things we too often forget.

"A Return to Love" By Marrianne Williamson is great. It inspired Nelson Mandela apparently.

"The Ramayana" (in trans.) is very peace inducing.
