reality has me back.Mentioning the magic tree house series I got a "uhhh, we have ALL of those at school!"( like I was supposed to know)

Yes! Betsy-Tacy books, that's what they are! They're the best! I guess I'd recommend the younger ones for your daughter, though. I like the older ones, myself.

My daughter just turned eight in December.

She is an animal flip and loves the Little Animal Ark series.
She has just discovered The Pixie Tricks series as well.
Junie B. Jones is a good one as well.
Bailey School Kids is a cute series.

We've been reading Betsy-Tacy for a bedtime read-aloud.

9yo dd has read them before, but enjoys hearing them again; 5yo dd is really enjoying them.
